Is anyone using a athlon x2 4200-4800 with a msi k8n neo2 platinum motherboard? what bios did you have to use to get the cpu to work correctly? and any kind of problems you ran into?

read this thread

EDIT: No official BIOS as of yet .. but soon to be the BIOS 2.0 revision when ever MSI releases it, at the moment i think the beta BIOS is at 1.9b8, and this supports the X2 but not properly yet, it has some glitches that need to be ironed out, you can download the latest beta BIOS from the link in the first post ..

well i guess i can always switch back to my abit av8 3rd eye kt800 motherboard. that has a bios out now for dual core support.

Yeah you could always use that, but the MSI would offer better Over-Clockability if that is what you are looking for, i should imagine MSI would be releasing a BIOS fairly shortley like within the next 2 weeks to a month

I am having no issues at 2.55-2.6ghz speeds...not one BSOD or freeze yet...Anything I tell it to do it does it and waits for more...

Oh i have tried 1.9b6 and 1.9b7r2 and they both run the same...The r2 version has the new 216-233-250 dividers Anand was talking about in the brand new article on front page....

problem is you can set them but I cant seem to get sandra scores to increase. it may be there and work if I did more benches since I think sandra simultaes based on speed and actually doesn't do much...
