Athlon X2 3800 with DDR2700/333?

Just wondering what I should expect trying to run an Athlon X2 3800 & DFI UT NF4 Ultra with 2x512 DDR2700/333? Will it work? If so what kind of performance hit will i take?

Thanks,

Pete

Huh? His board is using DDR..you can't be running DDR2 on the same board...

OP, You can run PC2700 DDR just fine, if you aren't going to OC. Since the X2 isn't super bandwidth hungry, I wouldn't expect a huge performance loss by running the slower ram. Some applications will be affected more than others, but typicaly shouldn't be more than a 1-3% differance.

It will work fine, there shouldnt be too much of a performance hit, Athlon 64 isn't bandwidth starved.

It should be fine, till i got better ram and was able to set to ddr400 speeds, i have use ddr360 speeds for 6 months... didnt notice any difference, only diff i get is the fact that the cpu went from 2.7ghz to 2.8ghz.

You should be fine anyways.

memory benches should show a gap but real life computing shouldnt be influenced much by 333mhz memory, maybe some games but not more than 5fps max i guess.
