Athlon vs. Duron?

Can someone point me to a CPU benchmark review that has the Athlon vs. Duron? I'm considering one or the other and I wanna know if the extra Athlon cost is justified.

thanks.

As always, it depends. For games, yes, the cost is probably justified.

I just upgraded from a K6-III 450 mhz to an Athlon XP 1700+. I don't notice any difference in everyday apps. The only differences I have seen have been in games and A/V encoding.

Makes me wonder why I upgraded, since I do those latter activities pretty rarely.

AFAIK, the differences tend to be minimal except in certain apps. Last thing to consider is that Durons only come in much lower clock speeds.

The one thing that article doesn't take ionto account is that if you "overclock" the Duron to 266fsb, then it is much closer to the Athlon levels (Like 3% within Athlon levels). If you're on a budget, then don't hesitate to get the Duron but if there's a T-Bird or Athlon XP that is close to the Duron's price, I would take it.
