Athlon Thunderbirds are not multiplier locked?

I thought Tbirds were supposed to be clock locked like Intel's? I got Athlon Tbird 1Ghz CPU today and it's NOT clock locked... so I'm doing some o/c experiments right now.
 
hey can be unlocked, either by hand or factory unlocked. intel is factory locked and cannot be unlocked.
