I've got an Athlon 700MHz(classic) with the following serial:

AMD-K7700MTR51B A

What can I find out from this? Week number? Core Speed?

Thanks a ton.

Here is a site that might help you. Athlon results
It gives results of what other people have gotten out of their chips.
If you are going to over clock I would read this article first: Athlon overclocking basics
Your gonna need a good heatsink and fan..let me restate..a great HS/F. Your also going to need a GFD (Gold Finger Device) which is explained in the article.
If your lucky you mite get to 1GHZ..but more than likely somewhere around 850mhz.
Thats just my .02 worth..

Good luck and feel free to PM me if you need further help

Hey orgcaptainnemo, here ya go;

AMD-K7 = Family/Architecture AMD-K7 Architecture (like, duh?)
700 = Rated Clock Speed
M = Package Type = M=Card Module
T = Operating Voltage - 1.03 - 2.05v
R = Case Temperature = R = 70 degrees C
5 = Size of Cache = 512
2 = Cache Devisor = 2:1 cache
B = Max FSB = 200
A = Reserved Character.

As for finding out the core speed you'll need to take off the outer casing and actually look at the core itself as the serial number doesn't really say much!

Hope that helps.

<< how far will it OC? >>

You want statistics, or do you want to know how far it will go?
For the latter: just try it...
