athlon raid with maxtor hd?

Ive got 2 30g maxtor hard drives, at 66 and ata100,
I read in another thread that they have problems for raid
on the new athlon boards- I want to go to athlon from my current
p3, just wondering what the best board is in the $140 range, and whether
its worth my time if there is incompatibility.

I setup my Athlon 1ghz on a KT7-RAID w/2 15gig 7200rpm ATA100 maxtors (aka the diamond max 45 plus series)in Raid 0 (striping) and it performs flawless. No compatibility issues w/ win2k or 98SE, and the performance is tight. My first array used a 64K block size, but when i lowered it to 16, my sandra benches went from 35000 to 37000, which kicks. plus the maxtors are hella quiet and cold.
