A little on the low side, but it should be adequate. Never know until you try.

Even though I am not yet an Athlon owner I have read quite a lot about it. It really depends on the quality of the 250 Watt Power Supply. Since the Athlon came out it has made it clear that all 250 Watt or 300 Watt for that matter power supplies are NOT created equally. It really depends on the current of the 3.3 and 5.0 Volt rails. Both should be up there. From all I have read the Enlight 250 should be fine with your Athlon 500. Someone correct me if I am wrong but I am sure that is one of the few 250 Watt PS's that are on the recomended list at AMD.

i just checked at AMD site but the lowest athlon listed is 600 mhz, i have emailed their tech support but who knows if they will answer.it is hit or miss with them as far as answering emails, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.

You shouldn't have an problems with the power supply. I would be concerned about the RAM. I had some generic PC133 RAM that I had to return because it would NOT work in my KA7 board.

I Installed a 600 on a K7Pro in a genereic mid tower that had a 200 watt power supply. Been running fine for months. He also has a V3 2000.

That's a Great MB too, best Slot A IMO.
