Athlon or Sempron Advice Needed?

I'm making a build for my parents and I'm trying to decide if i should save money and go with a Sempron or if an Athlon/Opteron would be a better choice. They are only basic users (word processing/internet) but I'm sure if I build this they would keep it for a good 4/5 years. Any advice would be appreciated. I am on a limited budget so that is a concern, but I could fit the 150 or so for a low end athlon if necessary.

Socket 939 Sempron would be fine IMO. Even that is more power than they need, but it will last 4-5 years and is upgradable if required in the future.

Oh, sorry no, they dont seem to exist yet. My bad.

In that case, a 754 sempron would be ideal. Personally i would go with a socket A/ socket 478 cpu, they wont notice the performance difference and if it broke theres hundreds replacements littered around ebay despite those sockets being obsolete.

Socket 939 Semprons exist, you just can't buy one on Newegg yet. I've seen them on Ebay and you can buy them if you get an HP computer.

Geforce6100 motherboard $60
socket 754 Sempron $60 and up
