Goodday to you all,

I have some question regarding AMD chipsets and processors.

Currently i have a PIII 700E and i'm considering buying a fast AMD Athlon(1.33Ghz) but i just don't know what to get, i have heard(and I don't know if there's truth to it or not but....) that Athlon's suffer from multitasking problems and that it crashes the system when you run more than 5 applications. Does anyone know if this is true and if not, how many applications can you run without the system freaking.
I would also like to know which mobo(motherboard) to get, i was thinking about the A7A266 or the A7M266 or whatever, I just don't know which one to get. It doesn't have to be a super-overclockable mobo, stability and compatibilty comes first with me, offcourse if there are mobo's out there that offer both(overclockabilty and stability) then it would be a huge bonus :):)

So can any one of you guru's help me out here and save me from buying crap:eek:

Thnx a million to anyone who can clear these things up for me.

Greetings from Europe fella's
:D:|

Id love to know who comes up with these rumors LOL so stupid. Of corse its not true. A7M266 is probably my favorite mobo except the fact it doesnt have multiplier adjustment. As for how many applications... as many as windows will let you, windows will freak out not the CPU.

duvie - i think it is disabled by default, or anyone who doesn't want spam / icq spam disables it. I had it disabled until I discovered (only a couple weeks ago) that some people dont trust you unless they can see your profile.

Tanks for the info fella's, it really makes me happy to hear those silly rumors are not true :):)
And for my profile, yes i disabled it because i have had my fair share of spam, icq-attacks and trojans by publicly posting my icq or profile.

Now i feel safe spending my money on that cool Athlon!!!!!!!

Thnx so much, no matter how many websites you go to, one says this and one says that and in the end of three hours searching for answers you have even more questions. Forums are much better for this and atleast you know the opinions are not twisted to support a particular chipset or favour a particular brand.
