Athlon MP or XP for Dual Processor system?

OK so I thought I understood the differences between the MP and XP Athlon processors. Then I read this article and I am all confused again. They used XP insted of MP processors in their testing.

First off from this article, I assume it is possible to use either XP or MP processors on a 760MPX Mother Board right?

If so, then what would be the advantage of the MP over the XP? Since they are based off the same core. I thought that the MP processors were the only ones capable of being used in a Multi-Processor system. Also is their that much of a performance difference?

I am looking to build a Dual processor system, and debating wether or not the higher price of the MP is justified. Since this article, I am starting to look at XP chips as a cheaper option. Anyhow any answers or insight to this would be appreciated. Thanks.

The core is exactly the same, and the performance is exactly the same.
The only differences are:
The L1 bridges on the AthlonMP are unlocked, so it's easier to overclock the AthlonMP via the multiplier.
The AthlonMP has been tested for and is guaranteed to operate reliably in an multiprocessor system.

The AthlonXP may well work in a multiprocessor system, but it isnt tested by AMD for it, and AMD offers no guarantees that it will operate properly.

I would get the MP's. There only around $50 more but there guaranteed to work unlike XP which may work but who knows when AMD will disable them.
