Hey, all. I've got two 2800+s with stock cooling. I also have two SK-7s (I think that's what they're called). Now do you think they'll make a really huge difference? I'd pretty much be voiding my warranty on the 2800s, but they run at about 59C under load.

What would you do? (Or do I even need to ask? ;))

Well, 59C isn't too hot to be dangerous, but if I had two processors running that hot, I'd be buying better heatsinks for them. Since you already have good heatsinks, you should use them. BTW, it won't void your warrantees; AMD doesn't ask if you used the stock heatsinks.

Personally I would go and watercool them :) but your temps seem about right for air cooling, without having a tornado in your case you temps wont drop much below 50c

Ah, good. I'm on a cooling kick right now. Everything is running super warm in my system.

hey, can u tell me how ur system runs on high end games and everything else? i'm deciding on whether a duel athlon mp system is worth its performance vs p4 3.4/athlon 3400+ and higher. also, can u compare it with existing cpu's on performance?

With respect to games, it runs exactly like a 2600+ or so, since it uses slower memory. For everything else, if you're running more than one app at a time (IE Photoshop and 3DSM or running a game server while still using your computer), it blows a single system away.

Go dual if you're going to be doing huge multitasking. If you're just going to be gaming, go for the single.
