Just got back from Montana where I upgraded my mom from:
CPU - XP2000+
Memory - 512MB
Video - ATI 7200
HD - 20GB

To:
CPU - Athlon II X4 620
Memory - 4GB
Video - ATI 4670
HD - 640GB

The only thing that she doesn't like about it is, is that she doesn't have enough time to get a cup of coffee after she hits the power button before the computer is waiting for her.

I showed her how easy it was to connect to her HD TV and with the wireless keyboard and mouse she can either play her games or do her bowling work while in her easy chair.

My wife and my brothers and I were watching V off of ABC's web site on my mom's HD TV while my mom is doing a Jigsaw game on the computer monitor. The sound was routed to the HD TV and my mom is gigglin because she can hear the game sound effects coming in over the TV.

Old Benchmark scores:
3DMark 2000: 27212
3DMark 2001SE: 29371
3DMark 2003: 23757
3DMark 2005: 14490
3DMark 2006: 7698

your mom plays games that require a 4670?!

The benchmarks that I gave show that her system will perform just a hair better than my nieces 5000 X2 (2.6GHz) with a 3850. The main reasons I got the 4670 was that it had a native HDMI port (no adapter required) and it had more power than an integrated solution.

But who knows, with a better system maybe she'll take up more chalenging games.
