Correct, the problem is from CPU bottlenecking. A faster video card does NOT solve the lag/stuttering problem.

Either the fix is CPU replacement or platform shift to intel. Seeing how well the SB does, I am pretty much sold on the idea of just getting a 2500K and be done with it.

If I was in your shoes, I wouldn't throw any more money into the Athlon II/Phenom II platform. It's too outdated. You might be spending less now getting the Phenom II, but it won't be long before you're here again complaining about the slowness.

Agree, seeing how the 2500K is $225 and can be picked up at a MC for $180.

Got the 2500K.

Will sell the old Athlon II 630, MB and memory or convert it to a HTPC. The 2500K is very good and I can now sit back and watch the BD (speed boosts) and SB-E wars this winter.

After running more performance tests the 2500K was just jaw dropping. Sold.
The Q9550 was better than the 630 but not that much better.
