Hehe. Some cheeky goit managed to subvert the web site of a benchmarking setup, and found their AMD 760 review article - which had been uploaded, just not yet linked to. :Q

Here are a few results to whet your appetite... 😉

Benchmark 266 MHz, PC2100 .......... 200 MHz, PC133 .......... Difference

SYSmark 98 .......... 481 .............................. 467 .......................... 3.0%
SYSmark 2000 ...... 208 .............................. 201 ........................... 3.4%

"Expendable..........118.0........100.2...........17.8%
Quake III...........135.5..........119.7..........13.2%
Unreal............49.0.............44.3.........10.6%"

(Unreal, shoddy programming at work, hehe 😉)

15% improvement in games, nothing to dismiss lightly 🙂

I wish they didn't use "fastest" settings for Q3 though--High Quality would stress the AGP/memory subsystem more (I think), so the improvement wouuld be more indicative of future games.

Anyway, very encouraging!

Adul, don't you get it? They're stock is going to go down. AMD does something good. Their stock goes down. They do phenominally. Their stock goes down. Now they're going to have another incarnation of their top of the line chip before Intel, another truly miraculous accomplishment. Their stock'll go down 😛

Much of this is due to some freak analyst who used to work for Intel, and no matter how AMD does, always berates them, and says that they aren't doing as well as they are.

BTW, Those are nice numbers considering the price of the components so with future updates I'm thinking it can only get better. But what are the p4 benchies like compared to these?

Quick note

I don't buy that theory that someone at Intel is affecting the price of AMD stock. But hey fundamentals always plays thru in the market, also stock prices arent' necessarily an indication of how well the company is doing.

AMD will have 30% of the market within 6 months. once this happens people even stupid people will take notice. AMD's stock will then start to rise. Most people don't see market movements untill it's too late. In other words by the time AMD stocks really start to move, it'll be time for the wise invester to plan an AMD Stock firesale.

Just some random thoughts.

To bad there won't be any increase of FPS where everyone plays.

At 1024x768x32 and higher the Video Card is the bottleneck.

I see some ppl in the forums can't count to say that only 5fps more in q3 is nothing, its actually 15fps more. That is 15 frames you didn't have before so take it while its there.
