Im just curious. I saw this on an Australian hardware store's website. What sort of mainboard would this 266mhz FSB CPU require? A KT133A based, AMD 760 or 761 based, AliMagik 1 based, or KT266 based board?

Also, for it to run with a 266mhz FSB, does it require DDR ram? Or will it run with PC133 ram (even though the memory bandwidth will be a bottleneck)......?

Any info will be much appreciated as Im getting rather confused about all these AMD alternatives.

"A KT133A based, AMD 760 or 761 based, AliMagik 1 based, or KT266 based board?"

The Athlon C will run on all of these platforms you specified.

No, that's where the KT133A comes in. The memory bottleneck is there but in terms of performance the stock speed KT133A trails the DDR mobos by only a bit less.

any socket a board with a 133 bus will run that cpu just fine

the type of memory used depends on the board you use
kt133a and amd 760 use pc133 ram

the others use ddr and memory bandwidth isnt a problem on athlon boards, the cpu's are not bandwidth hogs like pent4

OK.
But if I have an Athlon C 1.33Ghz for instance running on a KT133A based motherboard with PC133 Ram, will it have a 266mhz FSB?
Or will it be a 133mhz FSB?
