I have a Athlon 800 & MSI K7T Pro2-A. I unlocked the CPU using the pencil trick about 9 months ago and got it to run @1GHz. A few months ago it started crashing all the time, so I set it back to 800MHz and it was working great. Now the other day I restarted my system and it reported a 700MHz athlon. I flashed to the OC BIOS to get the multiplier of 8 (2.9 has 10.0-15), when I set it to a multiplier of 8 it boots at 800, but as soon as I start doing things in windows my comp restarts :|. I switched back to BIOS 2.9 and now at default multiplier it says 700MHz. What's wrong? Is the pencil trick failing?

Please Help, micron

I have a Athlon serialb. I think I'm going to try erasing the pencil and trying the window defogger tonight ;).

Thanks lane42, but I already have the defogger kit. I think I'll try that first :).

<<You should check the pencil lead connection on your Duron bridge>>

Why do I always have a Duron image in my mind?

Cleaned off the CPU and Heatsink and it's back at 800MHz. My temps even dropped :). Thanks! :D
