Athlon 700 to ? ... need OC advice =P

I have an Athlon 700MHz chip ... and I wanted to know how far I could probably OC this thing to with a decent
HS + fan. I'm tired of resetting my CMOS every time ... and I'd like to know some good combinations of speed and voltage so I can OC my Athlon. I've hit 805 already. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

First thing is..is this a classic or Tbird??? if its a classic your not going to be able to go much higher than the 805 without getting a GFD (gold finger device). Do you have one of these??? I can only answer your questions on presumptions...You might be able to get close to 1 ghz but many things need to be answered. Let me know your whole system..then I can help you better..

Yeah, I think I'm gonna go ahead and use the GFD. I didn't want to pop off the case , but I guess I'm gonna have to do that if I want more speed with my Athlon. Thanks for your help!

Athlon 700MHz Classic
256MB Kingston PC-133 RAM, CL 2
Soyo K7-VIA MB
(2) Maxtor 20GB 7200 HD's
Kenwood 72x Cd-Rom
Plextor 8/4/32 CD-RW
Guillemot Geforce 256 SDR
Creative X-Gamer Sound Card

Anything else you can add before I overclock?

Cracking open the case is no big deal..it actually will keep your chip cooler...go to this site for help in cracking your case: Athlon Case Cracking
Other than that you have a pretty good system..

Ooh..one more thing- after you get to 850 your gonna have to change the cache multiplier and I'm not sure if your Soyo K7-VIA MB has the ability to change the cache in the bios. If it doesn't then you can get a cache changing program like mathlon...if you need it I can email to you.
