I see that newegg is selling a athlon 64 3000 with 1 meg of L2 cache for DTR notebooks oem for 223.00 dollars
Now new egg is also selling a athlon 64 3200 with 512 L2 cache retail box for 216.00 dollars

so can someone tell me does that me DTR notebooks mean that it is designed for notebooks only?
for i want to got athlon 64 which chip above is better? i have heard that losing half the cache isn't that big of a deal for i am wanting a gaming machine only thanks

Get the 3200 w/ 512k L2. It's a Newcastle core and should overclock pretty well. It also already has a 200 mhz clock speed advantage stock (I believe the 3000 DTR is only at 2 ghz...but for some reason I remember seeing 1.8 ghz...but I dunno).
