Question: How is a 64 bit processor an advantage when there are no common 64 bit applications?
Thanks.
Thanks.

In most cases it keeps up very nicely with the P4, and in games it slaughters it. I own a P4 and am getting ready to do a system upgrade...and the only reason I'd go with a P4 again at this point is if I was a heavy multitasker (as in burning a CD + encoding a DVD + listening to a song in Winamp + playing a game of Doom 3 all at the same time). And cost isn't an issue since they are priced similarly. AMD knows that very few people would pay extra for an Athlon 64 right now since there isn't a need for a 64-bit CPU at this point.
