Athlon 64 X2 upgrade questions

Hey guys... I am planning on building a Athlon 64 X2 system. I am looking for advice on whether or not it is worth buying a 4200+ processor rather than a 3800+ processor. Is the added cost ($78 on Newegg) worth the extra 200 mhz?

Also, I am thinking about overclocking in the future. I've got a couple of sticks of 512MB Corsair PC3200 low latency DIMMS (CAS2), that I usually run at 2-3-3-6, 1T. Will they be good enough to use for overclocking this new processor?

either the 3800+ x2 or a opteron 165 would get my vote to purchase for dual core fun

No. I got a 4200, and it clocks the same as the 3800, in fact, all X2s do. Get a dual core Opteron, they clock higher and perform better. The RAM should be fine, though you'll likely have to relax the timings to get much above 200.

YES go 4200+ , it is better, have seen it, the 3800 are bloody good , still a 4400+ you will notice a big gain then, if you can save for anoth 3 or 4 weeks ! Its worth it !

Unless of coarse you overclock feral bad ass style , then the 3800 is probly for you !
