Even better... wish I knew about it sooner because I just got a 3500+ for $88... would have gone for the San Diego core just 'cause.

939 single core at MWave

3700+ OEM $108 using a Froogle link.

I recall these had kept higher prices even though the Venice 3800+ were cheaper in the past few weeks. Well, for those who want the 1MB cache...

bingo- I thought everyone knew about MWAVES retail deals by now.. guess not...
I ordered two of those 2 days ago from mwave- what a great deal!
ps- OP's "deal" is not good, please update with mwave deal (but if thread is abandoned and/or not made better based on the above info, then or lock/delete thread.

Yes, the MWave deal is better but, just because it's better I wouldn't ask the OP to delete or lock the thread. I suppose you could PM the OP to make it an MWave deal if you were so inclined. If the thread is no good, let it die. If you want to, start an MWave thread. These two CPU's I listed were not in stock yesterday. Today they are, but maybe tomorrow they will be OOS.

Yeah keep it open.

...I didn't even know the 1mb cach Athlons were even still on the market. Much less discounted.

Everyone, don't buy these! At least until I get my pay check on Friday. :(

ah - I am sorry- what I was MEANING to get across was for him to update with the mwave deal and if NOT then the thread should be locked or deleted. in other words- give the op a chance to improve the thread title and head post to be more all encompassing/list the better deal, and if not- kill it

but seeing as op fixed the thread- is all good

Now I am not meaning to be a jackass but just because a lower price was found doesn't mean the OP should delete his thread should he choose not to update it with another vendors info. That is the reason why sometimes we have a 2 or 3 different threads that are from for the same product, but from different vendors. Look at times when Seagate drives are on sale. People post from Outpost, Newegg, Monarch, Buy.com etc. Most people want to see items from different vendors anyway so they can make that chioce for themselves. The lowest price isn't always the best price for a lot of us. If that sort behavior started here at ATHDs, then everytime a lower price was found on an item from which there already was a thread, what would we would have people say? Update the thread with new vendors info or lock/delete it?

uh- you went way overboard there. I dont have time to argue with you, but you took me too crudely when that wasnt my intention.

EDIT: Ok- fresh morning- bottom line is this is Hot Deals forum. OPs post wasn't a hot or even a warm deal comparatively to other listings of the same cpu. He didn't do thorough comparison shopping to confirm it was best deal for that cpu before posting here- which I consider irresponsible to other ATers.
I have been repremanded by other ATers for posting the BEST price ANYWHERE on a hard drive before, just because they didn't think it was hot compared to another hard drive that wasnt even in the same size or price range. I find my comments definitely more justified. And the OP did update his post so there is no issue for me except with your obsession with only the negative side of my either/or request for updating or lock/deleting on what I considered a bad deal post.
I agree that people want to see deals from other vendors, which is why I asked OP to update his post with the mwave deal- I never asked to REPLACE OPs "deal" with the mwave deal.
So thank you for backing up my postion with your comments ;) .
So with that said, anyone with basic reasoning skills can agree it is a great disservice to post a bad deal and not have it updated or changed. Because mis-leading/ill-advising fellow ATers to get a cpu for $10+ more than they should(and not even retail boxed with fan at that) is grounds for deletion or locking. If this post was abandoned/left in its original form it could have lead to ATers buying that cpu at that link, resulting in them getting a bad deal, because they ASSUME most people that take the time to post a "hot deal" HOPEFULLY allready did the research and comparison shopping before throwing their perverbial hat in the ring. That was my train of thought on the issue.

I did do some quick checking. Newegg cost much more (retail only) and last Hot Deals post from a few weeks ago was for $160 for the 3700+. People were bemoaning the fact (at the time) that while Venice cores were plummeting in price, San Diego cores were not, so for a few weeks the 3800+ was much cheaper than 3700+.

If it was known that there are cheaper prices somewhere, then why didn't someone post them earlier? That's the real "irresponsible to other ATers" that I see, knowing about a hot deal and not posting about it, not my now "warm" deal. Still not cold seeing as how other places such as Newegg are still priced higher.

Maybe I could have saved myself some trouble by not posting the deal, and thus people who knew about the MWave deal would still have kept it to themselves because they thought everyone else knew about it, and for those who didn't know about it... too bad.

Actually, know what the real problem is? The real problem is... do I buy one? I just got that 3500+ but haven't even installed it yet... do I get a 3700+/4000+ instead? Just for the heck of it? :p

hey man- I dont have a problem with you. Plenty of times people post deals that arent the best, but you were responsible in making it better fairly soon after, which I commend you for. No need to defend yourself as I have no issue with you since you updated your post.
Many times posts are abondoned or not updated and left as is, so thanks for staying on top of your thread :).
People had allready posted the MWAVE 939 CPU list in other threads showing the san diegos cheap, so I personally didnt want to be redundant, but I am willing to except another persons decision to try to single them out on a thread off their own (as long as at least lists the best price link of course ;) )

Since you posted a link I was curious so I found this one by the same seller. 3800+ X2 with free shipping. I wouldn't touch this myself. One would wonder how a little seller could sell for 1/2 the price of any other reputable vendor. Remember: Caveat Emptor.

lol. The lower price of this other seller scales linearly with it's credibility.
