Athlon 64 S754 3400+ Clawhammer vs 3400+ Newcastle

Id say the clawhammer....but again i could be wrong....btw the NC is at 2.4 and the Clawhammer is at 2.2 so take that into consideration

Right...thats why I'm confused. Is it better to have the extra 200mhz while gaming or the extra 1mb clawhammer cache?

supposedly the clawhammer is suppose to have 1mb l2 cache. and a 5% increase over the 754 newcastles when clocked the same. this is if they are both 754. dunno about 939. dont recall them having a 939 claw (other than the fx).

Nope.

I would say the NewCastle will be faster on average, but who really cares?

They are extremely close.

look what i found

Uh you found the CPU roadmap that shows the NewCastle 3400+ is 2.4 GHz with 512 KB L2 cache, & the Clawhammer 3400+ is 2.2 GHz with 1024 MB L2 cache...😕

/no idea what you were trying to say...

unless you are guaranteed that the Clawhammer will hit at least 2.4 on an OC....you can get that but again OCs are not guaranteed so its up to you...cache or speed...
