A64's run 32bit windows just as well as any other intel or AMD chip, same with the x64 capable intels.
XP64 is not as dependable as XP32. The only reason to run it is for a workstation with over 4 GB of RAM, and for that you'd probably want the 64 bit version of Vista or a linux OS instead.
The A64 is basically a 32bit chip with a x86-64 extension like SSE or something like that which is able to execute (in full) 64bit code as fast (or faster) then 32bit.
Actually I have no idea, but thats how I think of it.
