Athlon 64 performance when varying memory timing

Hi all,

I am about to buy a new fast system and I am trying to find any article showing the performance of the AMD Athlon 64 when varying the DDR memory timing at DDR-400 speed. I have found a lot of article showing the effect when overclocking, but none when leaving the memory at its nominal speed. Does someone remember having such article somewhere?

Thansk,

JTL

The sticky in the CPU/OC forum answers that question as well as when overclocking. Bottom line is that it's really not worth it to buy fast RAM for this system, no matter what the purpose, unless you're going to speeds where the 133 memory divider would be stressing PC3200 (unlikely with anything except an FX, which has multipliers for you to play with instead anyway).
