Does anyone know of an athlon 64 motherboard that hase jumpers on the board allowing the sata raid function to be enabled and disabled? Asus used to provide this function on their athlon motherboards that had ide raid. I really liked this feature because I have a switch on the front of my case allowing me to enable or disable the raid, thus I could boot from the raid controller where I have win 2k or I could flip the switch and boot frow linux on ide0, no need for a boot manager or entering the bios to change boot sequence. Unfortunately all the motherboard makers seem to be getting away from on board jumpers. The new asus athlon 64n board has no such jumper.

thats actually a very cool idea just using a switch to act as the jumper.... i could have used this a couple years ago when i had a dual boot on my a7v

Most BIOSes now have a hotkey menu (F8 on AMI) that lets you pick your boot device even before a boot manager software kicks in. Jumpers or switches? I think someone's stuck in the 1980s here ;)
