it was socket 940 only i think, and never was 90nm and won't be 90nm.

ya, the fx-53 was the only skt940 cpu to move to skt939

Who knows--a Newcastle 3400+ has 200MHz on it, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it beat (or at least equal) the FX-51 in most everything for hundreds less. For an unlocked 90nm, you may have to look at the FX-55, if that's 90nm.

probably some ignorant person on dealtime's staff made a typo, or tries to sell them to unknowing 939-owners on purpose on the behalf of getting rid of those older processors...
