Just built a PC with a Athlon 64 3000+ Venice and MSI RS482. The case is airy enough and the CPU fan is spinning....
The BIOS show the CPU temp as 57-60 Degrees C idle !! Similar temps are reported in Windows using PC Alert 4. The system temp is 36-38 degree C. The room temp is about 28 degree C....
Btw, this is using the stock AMD heatsink and without any Overclocking. The BIOS is the latest version...
Also, there are 2 case fans, one is blowing air in from the back, and another exhausting it out from the front of the cabinet.
I have already reinstalled the heatsink... removed the old goop, and replaced with new goop. Didnt have Arctic Silver, so used generic heatsink compound. No change in temps.
Should I be worried? These temps are way too high for this processor, right?
Any advice will be greatly helpful.
Thanks
