athlon 64 3000+ (venice) and epox 9npa+ ultra, i need help!!!

just bought a venice 3000+ and an epox 9npa+ ultra yesterday and i ran ntune to boost system performance. it's now running at 2.08 ghz but i read in forums it could run faster. i'm using the stock hsf. is it possible to hit 2.2 ghz on stock cooling? here's the rest of the parts: geil ddr 400 platinum (512 mb x 2), winfast 7600 gs, a sata hard drive and a dvd writer. the bios has too many settings and probably would take me ages to figure out. hope one of you out there know a short cut (bios settings preferably) to get my system running at least 2.2 ghz. i just need extra performance because i can't afford to buy a system with higher specs.

First, what timings does your memory have? Unless you got a subpar Venice your cpu should hit 2.5 fairly easily. I have a 9NPA+ Sli and may be able to help but need to know the specifics of your memory (as much info as you can provide).

If you just bought the 3000+ it might be an E6...so it may not budge more at all.

What's the stepping on it?

I hit 2.8Ghz with +0.25 volts on my Opteron & Epox 9NPA+ Ultra.

Id bet he just doesnt know the correct bios settings. Im sure thats probably holding you back. Id recommend reading the guide on the forum. Ive never seen a 3000 venice that wasnt able to get over 2ghz.
