hey, that CPU u posted has a CO revision CG. Repeat, it is NOT a true Newcastle.

If u look at teh end of the model number it says AP NOT AX. AX means *true* newcastle so you should be mindful of that. COs has weird results when OCing
 
id say go for it.. don't bother dropping back to 32-bit... if longhorn actually goes well then youll be maximizing the 64 bit capabilities and thanking yourself you didnt go 32 bit 🙂
