Heya, I am running an Athlon 1ghz, I just changed the jumpers on my mobo to 133 so it is running at 7.5x133, now when I boot up it recognizes it at a 1ghz, but my system locks up right before it detects my drives. I am running PC2100 DDR ram as well. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

It could just be that your chip wont do 133 FSB. Have you tried a lower FSB?

How do I check to see what mine is/can do?. Also, how do I make it so it runs @ 1ghz at 100fsb instead of 133? Cause my board has jumpers to change that, but the CPU multipliers I don't know where to look. They aren't in the BIOS

Problem being is that if I jumper it to 100 FSB, it then sets my processor at 7.5x100 and makes it a 750mhz. hehe

First check the temps in the bios.. any more than 60c and youve got a problem.. for a 1ghz I'd expect temps around 45-50c for a crappy fan..

What are the numbers on the core? It should read something like A1000AMS3C .. if its locked at 7.5 and only a 100fsb, then its only a 750.. otherwise its supposed to run at 1000 ..

If it's a 1ghz/133fsb, AND it's got decent temps, then youve got another problem somewhere...

You could try unlocking the multipliers and running 100x10 .. I've got a tbird 750 here, and it doesnt go much past 833 (with a chrome orb, of course..)

....you will need to set the multiplier at 10 instead of 7.5.... 10 X 100 = 1GHz or 7.5 X 133 = 1GHz. You will manually have to set the multiplier to 10 to get your chip to post to 1GHz. Hope this helped you out.
Also give us the chip markings...that will help us determine what your chip is.
