Athlon 1.4 OC

Has anyone got a 1.4 Tbird to run at 1733 mhz when running 13x133?

I have a KG7 and wonder if its possible...

I have my chip at 1.85 volts right now... and 12x133 = 1600....

Any help would be appreciated!

You have to be very carefull though...
Your 1.4 Tbird is the hottest processor around, even today.
I would assume that this processor in this overclocking state emmits like close to 80 W of the heat, so your cooling system would have to be, very, very efficient.

I got my Tbird to post at 1600Mhz max on air on my KG7. Failed booting into windows tho.

I seriously doubt 1733Mhz is possible without extreme cooling, even then you need some serious luck. What stepping? AYHJA? AXIA?

Yeah I think you'd have to have some good cooling (probably water) to get anywhere near that high. I've gotten my 1.4 up to 1550 on air, but it wasn't what I would call stable. I've only heard of a few 1.4's that like to be overclocked, mine isn't one of them. Right now I'm running mine at 1.4, but using a 140Mhz FSB. I think increasing the FSB is the best way to overclock these chips.

I have been running my 1.4 @ 1602MHz (11.5x139) for the past 4-5 mths, no problems at all. I think I've reached the limit already, as it'll become a bit unstable if I add 1 more MHz to the fsb, when running Prime95. The CPU will post @ 1650MHz tho, but it won't go into windows.
I'm using my CPU with a Soltek SL75-DRV4, running at 1.9v. Cooling is an Alpha PAL6035 with 6800rpm Delta fan (60mm). Temp is abt 50 idle & 55-56 full load. Lower if I turn on the aircon.

I've never seen a 1.4 go that high
there is a reason they stopped making the T-Bird at 1400 Mhz.
I doubt you'll hit 1733.
if you're lucky you may get 1600.
