I'm using an Abit KT7-A. I cleared the cmos, but it shows up as 1ghz. I tried to put the cpu at 10x133 in the bios, but after I do that, the screen goes blank. Any clue on whats wrong? :(

I thought it would be another help its showing 1ghz! . . . anyway, was the processor ever woriking prior to this? and have you checked the temps in the bios?

Did you manually set the CPU to 10x133? If you did, make sure that the AGP/PCI dividers changed with it. It might have left them as 1/3 which would put your hardware under serious stress. :p

Is there a 100MHz/133MHz jumper on your board? Should be near the socket A and NB...check your manual for exact location.

First off, go into BIOS and load optimized default. Set FSB to 133FSB, voltage should be at 1.75V if not detected correctly.

Also, what kind of cooling do you have? Which PSU are you running?

chzi, dont think so...

I resetted the cmos yet again and this time it showed up as 1.3GHZ so Im sorta happy, but whenever i try to change anything regarding the cpu, I get a blank screen. I can also only have my DVD-ROM plugged in. When I plug in my cdrw, it'll start resetting after everything is loaded in windows.

HSF is Volcano 5.
PSU, originally an OKIA 300w that worked fine, but I thought the PSU wasnt enough and that was the prob so I swicthed it w/ a Duro 400w

Im starting to think it's the psu so I ordered a LiteOn 300w. Hopefully, that'll solve the problem..

Oh yeah, when I cleared the cmos and it detected it as 1ghz and then 1.3ghz, it said something like

"CPU Nonfunctioning or has been changed. CPUsoft

F1 to continue. Del to go to bios"

Something along those lines..

Check your motherboard. I believe this problem is the same as many Athlon XP users have.

There may be a jumper on your motherboard that will have the 100/133 fsb settings. It should be set to 133.

Hm..I checked and I cant seem to find one..

Does anyone know if Abit KT7As have a jumper?

Hm...I set it to 107FSBX12 and it works great. I think I'll keep it at that. Thanks for the help everyone!

I have this same board...With RAID (KT7A-RAID)..BIOS at A9 (Latest)

And just dropped in a 1.33 Athlon T-Bird. 115FSBX12 Seems stable, but CPU temps are going from 45C-53C. Reading from PC Health in BIOS.

I am using Cooler Master heat sink and Volcano 6CU Fan.

My next step is to connect the L1 bridges and make it run faster !...

Question is: At this temperature, isn't it a bit too hot already? Please advice.
