Is it possible to use one of the new 1.2GHz Athlon's with the 266MHz FSB with PC133 on a board like the Abit KT7A-RAID.

If not, does anyone have experience with this chip and a motherboard? How has it worked?

TIA!

BTW, the K7TA(-RAID) does not support DDR memory.

No DDR chipsets are out yet.

Yes. Iam not too sure why the others are trying to link you to asus' ddr memory motherboard?!

If you were to just put that processor in a kt7a board at its default settings it will run a 133(or 266 ddr) fsb. It will have the multiplier set at 9 and the fsb at 133 hence 1.2g.

I have this set up except my 1.2 t-bird is the 100(or 200ddr) fsb. But on this motherboard you asked about, You can go into your bios and Manually set the multiplier to 9 and fsb to 133.(Default w/ this chip would be 12x100)

I'm still a little baffled about the links to a mobo that has nothing to do with 2 things you asked about though.

the ddr chipsets are out and have been out......Iwill ka266. Pc 1600 and 2100 ram have also been out and many here have been using. Also, he wasnt asking about ddr memory, he was asking about 266 fsb.

Yucky : DDR is out and available, although not very mainstream yet.. only boards I really know about are from Asus, Iwill, and Gigabyte.

The cost of the memory has come down very nicely, but the DDR boards still have a pretty stiff premium on them.
