Atheros bluetooth and Acer

Struggled to decide the proper forum to post this in, if it should be elsewhere someone please advise and thanks

Machine is an Acer Aspire AT3-605 with combo Bluetooth/wifi module. My issue is with the audio Bluetooth driver. I've found and installed what I believe to be the latest drivers (8.0.1.302 dated 8/23/13) and all components reflect the change, but the Bluetooth audio device in device manager cannot start with the following message:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Object Path Component was not a directory object.

So I have no idea what this means, but its the same message I was getting with the original drivers so I'm thinking it's not a driver issue. Any one have any thoughts on this?

EDIT: There is of course a ton of posts around and about on this problem, and most seem to have happened when going from 8 to 8.1. In my case it was a problem with 8 and continues under 8.1. Interesting that so many people have the issue and there appears to be no solution for it...

Thanks, ZZ03

My apologies its a T3-605 no A sorry sorry it actually says AT on the side label but the A must refer to Aspire.

if you go to Acer support, drivers and manual, and use the pull-down menu to pick the machine, you'll pick Desktop, Aspire, and T3-605. It's there. This machine belongs to my dad, and I've had it for a couple weeks doing a complete reset of 8.0/8.1, and he was jonesing for it back, so I returned it yesterday all good to go but for this one issue, which is not a problem for him, only for me! But next time I'm over there I'll take you a pic of the label, which actually says AT3-605-xxx I don't remember the last 3 numbers but Acer doesn't seem to differentiate beyond the 605 for support at least. Check it out, and thank you for attempting to help, I appreciate it!!

Yes that's it or very close. As I said, I don't remember the last digits but the specs are the same except this one came with 16gig of memory. I want to say we paid $800 for it at Tigerdirect, when we still had a retail store in Fort Myers, and also bought a 27" touchscreen monitor. It's not the K chip but fooling with the bios is the last thing my dad is interested in. He is severely vision impaired and likes the gesture magnification amongst other features. And he doesn't need the bluetooth, it just bothers me I can't fix it. Windows did have an update for the driver beyond what Acer offered, but that didn't fix it, and the more recent one I've used doesn't either. Atheros' website seems to be based in eastern Europe, and I do see other drivers there, but my av freaks when I look at the site, never mind download from it. I guess I'll just keep my eyes on the situation and maybe something will come along.
