Melody Hensley claims to have been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder 16 months ago following online abuse, which she says is the result of her being an outspoken feminist and atheist... claimed her PTSD from Twitter trolls was as bad as mental anguish suffered by those who do active duty.
Even though she claims to be still mostly bedridden, heroically she continues to use Twitter!

And you thought it was easy being a social justice warrior!

I would think being an "outspoken" anything would open you up to harassment, which may technically lead to PTSD-like symptoms...

...but that is akin to poking your finger in a light socket and then being surprised and offended at the resulting shock.

Suffering trolls is part of the package when you post online. Sorry, getting your feelings hurt online isn't remotely comparable to getting shot at in Fallujah, Omaha Beach or Hue ...

A friend of mine was in the Army for a few years, did tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. At one point on a midtour leave, he was showing us pictures from when he first got to Iraq, and pointing out everyone in the picture who had died. It must have been 30% of the people in the pictures he had didn't make it. I wonder if he'd trade some Twitter abuse to bring them back. Anyone claiming verbal abuse over the Internet is remotely comparable is a fucking insensitive idiotic asshole of the highest caliber.

Well said, sir.

Sometimes the only just end is a judge saying "I deny your disability claim for Twitter PTSD and order the bailiff to slap the shit out of you, since we can't afford the overtime for him to slap the stupid out of you."
