Pretty sad when atheists know more about religion then average religious idiot. Sad and Funny all at the same time!

“I have heard many times that atheists know more about religion than religious people,” Mr. Silverman said. “Atheism is an effect of that knowledge, not a lack of knowledge. I gave a Bible to my daughter. That’s how you make atheists.”

LOL!!!

You might want to practice a little reading comprehension. Atheist/agnostics did outperform any SINGLE group of religious believers. They did not perform better than believers as a whole.

The force is strong with this one...

“Even after all these other factors, including education, are taken into account, atheists and agnostics, Jews and Mormons still outperform all the other religious groups in our survey,” said Greg Smith, a senior researcher at Pew.

I wonder what that means? It even has a chart too... I guess this kinda proves my point. They are stupid.

And your still not getting it, the "average religious idiot" is composed of all the religious groups. If you combine all the religious groups (which includes Jews and Mormons), they outperformed atheists/agnostics. Nice try though.

No shit??????? Really grasshopper? Thanks for your wisdom!

You can't combine them all. If you did then non would be going to heaven as a whole. As we all know the only ones that are going is the christain faith...

Wow you're an idiot.

They mustn't have had you take the test. You'd have brought the average down catastrophically.

Is this a surprise? When you grow up you forget your birth religion and start worshiping the God of Mammon.

Again, more proof that atheists are more religious then their religious counterparts. That they know more about religion then religious people should show why they are nuts, not that they are knowledgeable. I used to have an atheist roommate in college and he would literally go around with books and start preaching about how God cannot exist on campus. He could not go a day without trying to convert people who were religious.

Belief in the absence of a god is a religion.

I can tell you all about the theory of luminiferous aether, does that mean that I believe that the theory is correct?

Err, no. You're an idiot. Atheism is the default mode of thinking. If you want us to believe in something then show us evidence, otherwise STFU.

It's a sad fact that the smarter you get the more encyclopedic your knowledge becomes (including religious knowledge), and the more this stuff sticks stubbornly in your head... no matter how much you'd like to forget it :(

also, anecdotal evidence as proof = fail :(

"Belief in the absence of a god is a religion. "

Maybe for the one nut you refer to, but not for most of us. I couldn't care less if you want to believe in fairy tales. Believing in god is an activity. Not believing requires no action on my part any more than not believing in the Easter Bunny.

Only BS is you. That, to me, is pretty common knowledge. Seems you are a prime example of this little study. Those that only see 1 person’s view of religion do not have the real facts, they have what will keep the "flock" coming back and giving more money.

I have studied a lot of different beliefs and saw many have come and many have gone. The only true stable is mans stupidity to keep believing what another person has made up. Scientology sounds crazy to most now, give it a thousand years and then let’s see.

Heres the same Quiz for anybody that wants to take it...

It does say Catholics not all Christians. I know from experience being raised Lutheran AKA catholic lite I was taught to believe the blood and wine was truly flesh and blood. Which I always thought was odd.

They should have sneaked some questions about truly fictional religions in there to see who was paying attention.

Such as, is Lathander Lawful, Neutral or Chaotic? Or, is the Dragon fated to save the world, destroy it, or both?

Has anybody yet figured out why athiests so often spend their life touting their beliefs upon others (seemingly more than the theologians I know) and do it with an amazing consistency of aplomb cynicism? Is it a lack of security in their beliefs and the attacks as a coping mechanism?

That's my point exactly. I notice it big time on the forums.

Really?
How many times have athiests knocked on your door to "tout their beliefs"?
How many channels on Sunday do athiests take over and get to "tout their beliefs"?

I don;t care what others beliefs are. The problem is when they try to force them on me. Never had a athiest screaming at me when I was in college. Never had a athiest standing on the side of the road telling me to do something or I would go to a bad place. Never had a athiest try and get money from me so I would go to a good place. etc...

Fail thread is fail.

Some of those questions have little to do with religion (history, law etc), and OP in his infinite stupidity comes to conclusions not supported by any evidence presented.

True, but let's not pretend that you and other theists would be swayed by any conclusions that are supported by presented evidence.

Belief in the absence of god != absence of believe in god.

But it gets preached anyway. I can imagine an atheist convention. Everyone goes around shaking hands and patting each other on the back telling each other how much smarter they are.

Most people who aren't religious don't give a shit but there are those who just have to go around telling each how stupid everyone else is and how smart they are. For them it's a religion of boosting their ego, and I have to say that group looks just as foolish as the Creationists. It's the "all about me" religion.
