Ate asparagus: should I see a doc or is this normal?

I ate asparagus last night and I noticed before I went to bed last nite and even this morning my #1 smelled weird. I usually drink a lot of water during the day so there is usually no smell. But it smelled semi-sweet and weird this morning. This is the second time it has happened to me, and I think both times were the result of eating asparagus. Is this usual or should I see a doctor? Are there other foods that do this to your body?

This is not a parody thread and this is not meant to be a want-to-be-locked thread so if I said something I shouldn't have, I apologize. Tried to write it the best way I could without offending someone, etc.

No, it's normal. Eating asparagus makes your pee smell like asparagus.

Normal. Many foods have an adverse affect on that.

Coffee. Tuna. Broccolli. Some medications (antibiotics in particular).

I got some penicillin pills after a surgery and when I opened the bottle, I was like "Ugh, these smell like urine."
And then later on I noticed that my pee smelled like the pills. It was awful.

Yes, I can scarcely imagine one's pee smelling like urine. That must have been horrible! ;)

This is normal.

Your semen will also taste like asparagus. Just a warning for your girlfriend/wife/partner/etc...

Forget orange juice. It's all about the pineapple juice.

From the article:
Scientists remain divided on why people have different urinary responses to eating asparagus. One camp thinks only about half of the population have a gene enabling us to break down the sulfurous amino acids in asparagus into their smellier components. Others think that everyone digests asparagus the same way, but only about half of us have a gene that enables us to smell the specific compounds formed in the digestion of asparagus.

Well, there's an easy way to find out, no???

Really? How much do I drink, for how long, how long does it last, and how much of a difference does it make?
