ATDCOT: Taxes are due.

Taxes are due in 4 days... still haven't finished mine.

What is everyone going to do with their refunds? I recently went to a conference for my job and got a free AMD A8-5600K and a FX 6100... maybe making some cheap workstations out of them and putting in some evaluation hardware and getting back into crunching again. 😛

What's a refund?

Last time I got a refund was as a student, when I messed up my withholding and gave the government an interest free loan.

It's when you make so little, that the standard withholding is too much. 😛

If that's the case, then you can always tell them to withhold like you have 20 kids. You can put whatever you want on your withholding, the IRS doesn't care, as long as you're within $1000 of what you actually owe in taxes.

I like overpaying so at the end of the year I don't owe anything and I get a little gift back that I didn't account for me having. 😛 I don't assume that I'm getting a refund, and my birthday is in April, so it's a little birthday gift for me from past me. haha

However you want to cut it 🙂

My extra part time job screwed up my calculations (or lack thereof) and tax time packed a wallop. Usually we owe less than $1k to both state and fed. Not this time 🙁

It pays to do the math ahead of time.

You might need a stick of DDR3 to go with one of those CPUs, right? 😛
