Atari old school gaming sweetness coming to a store near you.

Wow, I have fond memories of those old games. I learned assembly programming on those machines, I used to work with a group who did a lot of graphics coding for those games.

I've forgotten all that coding, but I still remember the games. Figures.

I broke out some beer and the Atari disk for my playstation last week. There's nothing like playing PONG while drinking. 😉

They've done this before, I don't think it sold too well. But the $20 price tag is pretty good, and that's a lot of games, so maybe this time will be different. I'd rather just play my actual 2600 though. If I wanted to play those games on my computer, I could find most of them redone as flash games on the Internet.

Haven't they done this before, with CD's of Atari games for the PSX? I know they had Capcom games, and a few other arcade companies.

Then there's the Jakks game systems. The current Retrogaming Radio talks about their new Atari paddle system. I remember reading a bad review for their Atari system.

Now if only they would also release that disk for x86 under WinXP.

There is always Roms. I've got an old Atari 2600 and a couple hundred games in storage right now. I went through two controllers on it..

Sure, but have you ever installed an old PC game or played an old arcade game and said to yourself, "Wow, this really sucks. I used to like playing this?" I installed The Bard's Tale awhile back after buying one of those anthologies, and I got bored REALLY fast playing that.

I thought the 7800 was pretty good too. The Video Game Revolution TV show that premiered on PBS last night said the 5200 was a big disappointment and one reason Atari went down during the slump. I always thought the 5200 was pretty good too, compared to the 2600.

I had the trackball for the 2600. You could cheat and use it to play Decathalon for some out of this world high scores. We had at least 50 2600 games. 🙂
