Which is better? Yeah...i never had one growing up...I had some other system. But anyways, which is better? is $95/$130 for a 2600/5200 with 17/36 games and a few controllers a good price?

never had a 5200, but the 2600 was the perverbial shiznitz.
95 bucks for it, however, is just plain wrong. I wouldn't pay more than 20 bucks for one... I swear they were nearly free at the the fleamarket.

i got one of those, it plays 2600 games also, but i dont think its called a 7600. 5200 is better graphics but the joysticks were even worse about breaking than the 2600 and the 5200 is harder to find parts for. i would go with the 7600 or 7800, whatever they call that thing, cause it plays the 2600 stuff and can use its controllers

I think is called Jaguar or something like that

Nope. Jaguar was Atari's failed attempt at a "cutting edge" system with 3d graphics and such. Apparently, it actually was technologically advanced, just too expensive and lacked games.

I know this should be left for FS/FT, but my wife and I have been deemed the task of cleaning her parents house (which they up and left with everything in it), and I found a 2600 & 5200 that I'd be glad to sell you for cheeeeeeeep. PM me if you're interested 😉

I first learned to program in Atari Basic on a 1200XL and my dad still has the old 2600 console with all of the games that we played as kids! 😀

I had a 2600 and my mom sent it to goodwill a week after i went off to college 🙁 needless to say i was devistated....
But yeah thats the one i'd go for....but not for $95 no matter what games and controllers their offering. Theres a place here that sells the old games for .50 each and the 2600 consol for like $30 with two controllers whenever they come around...they dont last long though 🙂

I think my brother and I wore out 3 sets of joysticks on the 2600 playing "Maze Craze" and the track-and field type game that required rapidly moving the stick left and right to make the character "run"
