ATA133

what's the deal with ATA133? Can anyone explain the difference between this and ata100? performance gains? pros? cons?

I searched and found this news article saying that the difference is negligible and that ata133 only helps when using multiple drives. Is this true?

Yeh, it's true. Even the best drives aren't slowed down by ATA100 or even ATA66 by any appreciable margin. ATA100 and 133 are better for other technical reasons, like error correction, iirc... I cerainly wouldn't use the difference between ata100 and ata133 as the basis for any hardware selection...
