Can i use an ATA133 round cable with an ATA100 device?

Yes, backwards compatible.

I second this one. Maxtor dreamed it up. ATA100 is the highest true standard for PATA drives. And as others wrote, a good 80-wire cable will work for ATA66 up. But remember, cheap round cables are iffy. The cheap round cables have worked well for me, but I use only short (12-18"), single-drive round cables when I use them at all.

It will be fine. I use 80wire/80pin for my old ATA33 drives.
