I just installed an IBM Deskstar 30g hard drive which supports ATA100. My mb Cubx supports only ATA66, I am thinking of buying a Promise Tech. "Ultra100 TX2" controller card to achieve the ATA100 transfer rate. Has anyone had any experience w/this controller/ mb or suggestions perhaps for a better one. I know SIIG & Maxtor both make such cards also. Any help would be appreciate.

You won't notice any difference in speed. I'd only buy a PCI IDE card if you want additional IDE ports. Startech also makes a board but I can't find any support info for it. Promise probably has the best support...hopefully the TX2 will work under Win XP.
