ata100 controller card and soyo6ba+4 mobo....problem

is there a trick to getting my ata100 controller card (pci) to work with this mobo?......i'm running windows me and it's a western digital ata66 drive (waiting on the ibm ata100 : ) ). I've installed the controller card and drivers and everything is there in device manager but as soon as i hook the drive up to the card the comp. won't boot to windows.........everything is perfectly normal once i plug the drive back into the mobo. I suspect there is a bios setting i'm overlooking or not aware of so if anyone has any experience with this sort of thing i'd appreciate a reply.

You should have bios set to boot to SCSI as the ATA100 controller is seen as a SCSI device.
