ok i need help

I have a asus 133/a7v and running win2000 with sp1.
Ok I have installed 2000 5 or 6 times in the past on the primary ide channel, then install ata driver, 4in 1
then moved it over to the primary ata channel and it would boot install and rebootand work just fine.

Well this time it wont. I have reinstalled, reformated and updated to all newest drivers too still won't load. btw i have a second drive on the secondary ata channel and it works.

It tries to load it seems, but gives me something about disk cofigaration not being right.
Seems like i'm missing a driver or something in the root directory? boot.ini? I really don't know .

Any ideas? THANKS

What 4in 1 driver do you have installed? What bios?
I have built many systems with this board using Windows 2000 SP1 and have never installed 4in1 drivers. The only Via driver I have installed is the stand alone 4.05 agp driver. I used the IDE controller in all systems to run the hard drive. As far as the 4in1 drivers are concerned some people seem to have luck with the 4.29 drivers in Windows 2000 but it is a mixed bag.

So far, I have had no problems at all by using the Windows 2000 default drivers. My benchmarks are much better than my friends machines that have the 4in1s installed running off the Promise controller with identical hardware setups.

I think there was something in the root directory?

I deleted all hidden on c root and did a double reformat and it work. Who knows?

Thanks
