ata100 and ata33 on the same channel effect performance?

I just upgraded to a 900tbird and have an ata100 capable mobo. I want to get the IBM 75GXP and use it as MASTER. If I have an ata33 drive as the SLAVE drive, will it reduce the performance of the ata100 MASTER? Thanks...
