All things being equal, especially GB/platter, the ATA66 7200 rpm drive will be faster. There really aren't any drives on the market that can use more than the ATA 66 spec.

Definitely go for the ATA/66 7200RPM drive. There aren't many IDE drives out there that can push any more than 40MB/sec sustained, so you're well within the limits of ATA/66. You might want to check StorageReview or a similar site and compare the actual models that you're thinking about.
