ATA mode limit question....

I am in the midst of planning for a new computer but have a quick question about ATA modes. I think I remember reading in an old Anand article that if two IDE devices are connected to the same channel, the mode will be limited to the slower of the two. For example, I will have four IDE devices, and will have an ATA/100 HD and a DVD ROM drive on the same channel. Will the channel be stuck at the speed of the DVD drive, or will the HD be able to reach ATA/100?

I am asking since if it is the case, I am going to opt for a board with some sort of RAID solution.

this was posted somewhere else in the forumns about a week and half ogo.. and a lot og guys explained why it wont but just believe that it wont or go look it up yourself bud 🙂
