ATA Interface Cable

NJLOAD

Senior member
I need a new cable, but it has to be 9 1/2 inches between the master and slave connectors. I have lots of cables around the house but none have this distance. This is the cable that came with the computer and from pulling it off and on the connector on the HD end came apart.

Is this a strange size? Where would I even look for something like this?

Any help is appreciated.

thanks

The standard IDE cable is 18-inches total length with 6 inches between the drive 0 and 1 connectors. It would seem that your cable is not of that ilk. There is also a 24-inch cable that has a greater distance between the two drive connectors. That seems like a long way between drives (9.5 inches.) Anyway you can rearrange your devices to get them closer together?
