ATA Cable help

The newer cables are backward-compatible. I've run an old CDROM using at ATA100 cable.

If you get the second one (probably a bit more expensive), it'll be more usable
in the future (expansion, etc.) since it works with all types of devices.

It really doesn't matter for DVD/CDRW drives because the don't transfer that fast anyways.

timje is right though, that if you get the 100 cable, you can use it for hd's or whatever in the future.
